ComputorEdge
Recently, I have contributed to ComputorEdge Online Magazine. This is a rather specialized publication that caters to, more or less, technical audiences. I have been contributing to the feature articles as well as some of the specialized write-ups such as the quick tips and things like the Linux Lessons.
I guess the interesting part of this story is that I am actually being paid to write for the magazine. It's not going to replace my day job, but it is a nice supplement plus it is good to be compensated for my work.
Feel free to visit the site and peruse some of what I contributed. It might be a little dry if you are not into computer technology.
There's Something We Need to Share
There's something I want to share. Something personal and private, something close to my heart.
I had thought to keep it private, to let our family face this alone and unknown, but I couldn't. My wife and I decided that perhaps our experience can help others, that maybe the road we are called to walk down can be of use to someone else.
I'm not one of these people to wear ribbons or host telethons or get a colonoscopy just because Katie Couric said to, but sometimes these things just hit so gosh darn close to home that you can't keep quiet. You have to speak out.
So we are speaking out. If our family's experience can shine the light of public awareness on our daughter's affliction, if we can help just one other child, or make the way easier for a single family, then our pain and loss of privacy will be worthwhile.
So here goes. We have something to announce. Our daughter has dysrationalia. We have been suspicious for a while, and it was just recently confirmed.
New Recipe Posts
Cooking has become somewhat of a hobby for me. My family says they love many of the things I have cooked for them.
I thought I'd put these on the Family Blog (see Recipes category above). This is a storage repository as much as a good place to share recipes. I hope to put together a fairly good collection of wonderful family recipes.
If you have a recipe you'd like to share please send it to me* and I will post it, but please test your recipes. I want this to be a list of tried and tested all-time-favorites for everyone.

The Cricket and the Seagull
I found a very short review online of the Manti Pageant which has this as part of their title. I chuckled when I saw this. I saw no signs of crickets or seagulls, nor was the seagull story found anywhere in the pageant. I found it typical that this is still the general image portrayed to people outside of Utah.
I am referring, of course, to the Mormon Miracle Pageant presented in Manti, Utah.
Our family attended the pageant this last weekend with our extended family living here in Utah. We all went down to Ephraim, the town with Snow College which is about a 10 minute drive from Manti. We stayed in student apartment housing on the north end of town. Nice accommodations for the 3 days we stayed, although it was apparent that these were designed for the student community.
Sew Sweet Designs
We are making good progress with Judy and Willie's web site. Their product list is uploaded and they now have an online ordering system, which they previously did not have.
The site should allow easier transactions and communication between the various schools and businesses they do work for.
In the future, they are hoping to partner with other distributors to deliver better and more products to their customers.
We are hopeful that their new web site will be a key element in their embroidery business.
You can take a look at the site by clicking on the link below.
